The other day I was talking with my friend Kevin and he was telling me about a Facebook project that his son Cameron was working on.
It’s called “The One Gallon Challenge”.
Now…
If you go to Facebook and do a search for “One Gallon Challenge”, you’ll find Cameron’s page.
I’ll even make it easy for you.
Here’s a direct link – The One Gallon Challenge
And as of this moment, he’s already got 51 fans – myself included.
When someone first glances at Cameron’s page, they might think to themselves, “What in the heck is this all about”?
But let me give you some behind-the-scenes info, so you’ll understand what an awesome teenager Cameron is, and the difference he’s trying to make in this world.
The reason Cameron started this project in the first place was to make people aware of a serious problem that’s going on in our high schools today – and in specific, our high school football teams.
Apparently, there’s an alarming number of high school football players who are dying as a result of dehydration.
In browsing the internet, I even found an article published by Time Magazine.
It’s titled “7 Ways To Kill A Football Player”.
I also found a recent article about Edwin Miller, a 16-year old High school football player from Germantown, Maryland who died from dehydration just a few months ago.
Since Cameron is a high school football player as well, this subject REALLY hit home with him.
That’s why he felt so compelled to do something about it.
Talk about an honorable undertaking.
There’s a huge lesson here, and I don’t know if Cameron’s even picked up on it or not.
You can bet he will though, especially if he sees my comments.
He just started this project, and in a very short amount of time, he’s already got 51 fans.
That’s because he’s passionate about what he’s got to say.
And he wants to make a difference in this world.
As time goes on, and word continues to spread about The One Gallon Challenge, it will attract more and more fans.
People will then begin sharing personal stories and experiences.
In the near future, this project could have one heck of a following.
Yet none of it would’ve been possible, had Cameron not decided to step up to the plate.
So let me ask you…
What are you passionate about?
What kind of impact do YOU want to make in this world?
What’s stopping you?
And of course, the answer to that last question is – NOTHING.
There’s nothing stopping you.
I also predict that Cameron’s Facebook project is going to provide him with a valuable life experience that will serve him for years and years to come.
I trust that it’s already serving YOU as well.
Dedicated to your success,
Kevin Thompson

P.S. If you have friends or family members who are high school athletes, or have children who are high school athletes, be sure to share Cameron’s Facebook project with them. Here’s the link again – The One Gallon Challenge

Kevin WOW this is great!! I started the challenge and I sleep better don’t wake up stiff and achey I am more alert I have more energy already. we need to get this out there
Being in the wellness field, this reminder on the importance of drinking water, not other beverages, is much needed and appreciated by me. As the mother of athletes, this offers me another voice to encourage my children to take care of themselves by drinking plenty of water during their workouts and events. Thanks for setting this up and for being a great example.
