Pain… Or Pleasure, It’s Your Choice

I’m in the process of doing some research, and a couple days ago I started reading Dave Ramsey’s book, The Total Money Makeover.

As I’m thumbing through it I discover that in the process of writing the book, he had a big contest, and the family who had the biggest financial transformation would be declared the winner.

The winners were Chance and Kimberly Morrow.

At the time they entered the contest, they were over $56,000.00 in debt, and had a yearly income of only $35,000.00.

In their current situation it would take them forty years to pay off their debt.

Upon joining the contest, they immediately cut up every credit card they had.

The then slash every expense they could, no matter how small it was.

They had a couple of garage sales, sold almost everything they owned, and used the funds to pay off their debt.

Chance also started working a ton of overtime at his work.

And within 12 months, they were able to cut their debt by $14,000.00.

Seeing this success, they decided to ramp their efforts up even more.

Chance took a second job delivering pizzas five nights a week.

As a result, his family never saw him, but they were on a mission – to attack the debt.

They also decided to sell their home, so they could take the equity, and use it to pay off the remaining debt.

Finally…

They were debt-free.

As I finished reading their story, I’m thinking to myself – what a painful process.

This family scrimped, saved, cut back in every area of their life, worked every waking moment, sacrificed their time together – and they did it for who knows how long, in order to pay off their debt.

Talk about pain.

Yet there are countless people in the book who have done the same thing, and endured the same painful process.

And there are THOUSANDS more (who didn’t make the book), but have endured the same painful process, so in the end, they can be debt-free.

When you look at what Dave Ramsey does, there’s no doubt that he’s helping people.

But let me tell you, it ain’t easy to follow Dave’s advice.

Like I said, it’s painful – REALLY painful.

What if there were a better way?

And what if it wasn’t painful?

What if the process was actually fun?

When people follow my lead, they do much more than work their tails off, enduring an extremely painful process, in order to become debt-free, and get themselves to ground zero again.

Instead…

They never feel like they’re working, because they love what they’re doing.

They’re making income throughout the entire process, and it continues to increase each year.

They’re paying off debt – if they want to.

They have more income than needed to provide for their own family.

They have extra income to put in the bank for later.

They have extra income to give to those who are less fortunate.

They’re living a life that most people only get to dream about.

Sound interesting?

Then stay tuned.

I’ll be making a big announcement very soon, and you won’t want to miss it.

Dedicated to your success,

you know put some horns on that guy and you really got something here!

That’s too funny – then it would be even more painful.

Kevin – Couldn’t agree more! Having come from the financial planning world, it’s easy to get sucked into this type of thinking. But like your buddy Garrett Gunderson says – people get stuck in the scarcity paradigm and defer their lives. The majority of people believe that making money has to involve working hard and sacrificing. I used to think money was something to be “captured” – but that disrupts the natural flow of money (through society and generations). I choose to be a conduit of money and the pain you speak of can be let go.

I have been in a position of loss, many times,Money, Home, Divorce, damage to my property and being told, by authorities that they would not talked to me. I have had to let go and let god in to give me peace. Focus on what I want, not what I don’t want.
